  • Annual Gala Evening: Organization of prestigious events to support their causes.

  • The Hadassah Meetings: A series of scientific conferences that foster knowledge exchange and collaboration.

The Missions of Hadassah France

Since its creation in 1985, Hadassah France (a non-profit organization under the 1901 law) has worked to raise funds in support of the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem, a private institution.

Support for Medical Research

A key focus of Hadassah France's mission is supporting medical research, a field in which the Hadassah Medical Center excels. The center has gained global recognition for its groundbreaking research.

A Bridge Between Israelis and Palestinians

Additionally, the Hadassah Medical Center serves as a bridge between Israelis and Palestinians, a role that has been widely praised by the international community. This reconciliation effort was recognized with a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005.

Hadassah France: Partnerships and Medical Support

In 2018, Hadassah France developed numerous partnerships as part of unique Franco-Israeli collaborative projects with some of the most prestigious French medical institutions, including:

  • Institut de la Vision in Paris, led by Professor José Sahel, focusing on retinal diseases such as retinitis pigmentosa and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).

  • Necker Institute, specializing in hematology.

  • Saint-Louis Hospital, in digestive surgery.

  • Georges Pompidou European Hospital, in cardiology, particularly focusing on aortic bicuspid valve disease.

  • Toulouse University Hospital, providing a multi-month internship for a French medical resident at Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem.

  • Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, specializing in oncology.

Hadassah France's Support in 2019

In 2019, thanks to the generosity of its dedicated donors and the commitment of numerous partners—including the France-Israel Foundation—Hadassah France chose to support two critical fields of medicine:

  • Oncology, particularly in the field of lung cancer.

  • Reconstructive and Reparative Surgery.

The Importance of Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery

Oncology is of paramount importance, as cancer is the leading cause of death in France and the second worldwide. Reconstructive and reparative surgery is equally essential, as it helps rebuild, both physically and emotionally, those affected by cancer. It also plays a crucial role in treating and supporting numerous victims of war and terrorism.

Hadassah France's Support Actions

Hadassah France and its stakeholders offer support in various forms:

  • Acquisition of medical equipment for the Hadassah University Medical Center in Jerusalem.

  • Collaborative research projects between France and Israel.

  • Thematic conferences.

  • Knowledge-sharing among medical professionals.
