The Missions of MDA
Maguen David Adom (MDA) in Israel is the national pre-hospital emergency organization. Each year, 17,000 paramedics respond to 2,000,000 emergency calls, including cardiac arrests, terrorist attacks, and road accidents. Our average response time is 4.6 minutes, with an ambulance dispatched every 38 seconds to assist an injured person, patient, or someone in distress.
MDA also oversees the National Blood Bank of Israel, collecting, processing, and distributing nearly 400,000 blood units annually to hospitals across the country.
As a member of the Red Cross Society, Maguen David Adom participates in humanitarian missions in Israel, supporting the underprivileged by collecting and distributing 150,000 food parcels each holiday season. MDA also responds to major global disasters, providing medical aid in places like Haiti, Nepal, Benin, and Kenya.
Support the International Unit Program
We invite you to support Maguen David Adom by contributing to the strengthening of the International Unit Program, which aims to train French doctors in emergency medical care in Israel.
Today, 160 doctors from cities such as Paris, Marseille, Nice, Montpellier, and more across France have decided to join this program, becoming volunteers within MDA's emergency response teams.
These men and women actively help save lives in Israel, sharing their skills with Maguen David Adom and participating in a humanitarian mission rooted in values that unite us: Generosity, Mutual Aid, and Brotherhood.

Training and Actions of the International Unit Doctors
In the event of a major humanitarian disaster, the International Unit is called upon to join MDA teams in Israel to reinforce emergency response units. To prepare, French doctors undergo intensive training for at least one week per year in Israel, participate in refresher courses in France, and regularly perform shifts in MDA ambulances during their stays in Israel.
The doctors of the International Unit also distinguish themselves in France by carrying out significant actions, such as providing first aid training in schools, community centers, to associations, and individuals. Every year, 4,000 people are trained in life-saving techniques. Adults, teenagers, and children alike are all involved in acquiring this vital knowledge.
